More  about  my  personality

I am fascinated by personality typing. Because of this, and because clients have asked me about “my type” throughout the years, I have taken quite a few personality tests. I started with Myers Briggs back in the corporate world, then DISC when I coached within the Anthony Robbins coaching system before becoming a VA.  Some are very insightful, so in case they are ‘your thing’ I thought I would gather them all together for you here. The Enneagram has become most valuable to me since 2019.

Enneagram – 1w2 The Advocate

Advocates are highly principled, empathic, rational, and ethical people with a degree of warmth in our approach. We constantly work on improvement and serve our community or workplace by bettering everyone’s lives as a whole. We can quickly come up with creative ideas and solutions to improve things – even when others see no room for improvement. And the 2-wing influence can help us care for others and consider other’s needs without being critical or rude.

DISC

My Natural/Internal Style is DISC Type is S/I  We tend to prefer a more controlled, deliberative and predictable environment. We prefer secure, long-term collaborative work situations and tend toward disciplined behavior. We are loyal to our teams and organizations, and as a result, have a greater longevity than other styles. We have exceptional listening skills and are patient teachers with team members. We meet new people in an outgoing, gregarious, and more socially assertive and talkative manner.

Someone once told me I come in like a wave and leave a peaceful smooth beach when I retreat.

We are excellent team players because of our optimism and ability to defer ego to others who may prefer more attention or control. We tend to say ‘yes’ more than ‘no’ when asked to help out with a colleague’s project or problem. We tend to say ‘yes’ more than ‘no’ when asked to help out, listen carefully to alternatives before making judgments, and while we are not everyone’s favorite cup of tea, we get along with a wide variety of people. To feel optimally motivated, we need to feel free to speak our minds and feel heard in the relationship. We must follow our systems and time blocking, we like engagement and collaboration but hate meetings for the sake of meetings.

Part of the reason I chose to be a VA is freedom, and I need to be able to move around when I work – including travel. I prefer to work with strong, visible organizations and I bring a high sincerity factor to the team climate. My highest values are aesthetic, individualistic, and regulatory.

Aesthetic I prefer form, harmony, and balance. I color code. even in my closet. I also protect personal time and space. I solve problems creatively and I work to ensure creativity does not block function or results, but enhance it. Where I do my work is as important to how I do my work. Individualistic I have zero-problem standing up for my own rights and may impart this energy into others. I like to be recognized when I succeed and an environment where I can demonstrate my unique contributions.
Regulatory I am extremely well-disciplined and focused and  I prefer to follow standard operating protocol and traditional ways. I am a great organizer and like justified, private, detailed criticism so that I can make improvements, I like LOTS of routine and certainty. When it is time to alter rules or procedure, it is likely extremely necessary to do so.

personal brilliance book

One who is in the process of acting or doing, habitually showing vigorous activity or energy. One who possesses great initiative.

It’s all about action! Innovation isn’t innovation unless something is produced that has an impact. The action hero regularly transfers an idea into action. This is our habit. The action hero is not afraid of failure, rather we see each attempt as part of the journey. The action hero seldom lets an idea die on the vine. We are a motivator to move forward.
