Faith-Filled Annual Planning ExperienceA couple of weeks ago I found myself in tears on a business call.

Fortunately, thanks to my mute function, no one knew. Here’s why:

After quite a bit of work on my Faith-Filled Annual Planning Experience last year, a group of 20 of us ventured through it together. While we each worked largely on our own and using the parts of the planning kit we each wished to use, we came together in our Facebook group and on the Virtual Faith-Filled Annual Planning day to nurture and encourage one another and have a little accountability.

God was faithfully present through it all, encouraging me to do the work. There were times, I have to say, that I doubted my ability. I would tell myself that God prepares the chosen, he does not always choose the prepared. So, I walked in faith and shared as I felt called to share.

Here is some of the feedback from the experience:

“The opportunity to share and hear others share; that was extremely helpful.”
“I loved the accountability and the incorporation of the prayer.”
“I valued the comfortable feeling of like-minded people, who were also encouraging through the Facebook page.”
“I appreciated Amy’s sincerity and even sharing her personal experiences.”
“It was great to be able to share what I was doing with others and to have a day set aside with others working on the same thing.”
“Allowed me to focus on planning from a different perspective and provided me a concrete method to use.”

The feedback was wonderful as I moved forward trying to make the decision as to whether or not to continue things going forward… but I have to admit I was on the fence. Was this something I should focus my time on or not?

It was not until I was on a community call with fellow VA’s that I knew the answer. It was if God yelled out a big old singsongy “SEE!?!?!”

Our call was an opportunity to share the word, verse, or phrase that we chose for 2015 (if we chose one) and why. As people shared their thoughts, many referenced the work they completed during the Faith-Filled Annual Planning Experience and it moved me to tears. I felt myself singing praise and quietly crying while I listened, and it was in those moments I knew that I had to bring this forward again for 2016. I knew there was good work being done and that I had been not only called to do it, I was prepared by Him and what I lacked, He would provide. With Him it was possible.

So, I am making changes to things, enhancing them, learning, and working to bring this year’s 2016 Faith-Filled Annual Planning Experience to the world… and sooner so I can share more about it and hopefully anyone seeking it with a new way to focus their planning efforts going forward.

Has the work you are able and prepared do in the world impacted others in a way that moved you to tears? I would love to hear about it!
