You may be wondering, as you read these definitions, why I am blogging about “traits”. “Which Traits Are Yours?” is a reflective journey through my Personal Profile from the Anthony Robbins Companies. The profile, completed in 2009, states, “Behavioral research suggests that the most effective people are those who understand themselves, both their strengths and weaknesses, so they can develop strategies to meet the demands of their environment.”
The report measured these four dimensions of normal behavior:
- how I respond to problems and challenges
- how I influence others to my point of view
- how I respond to the pace of the environment.
- how I respond to rules and procedures set by others.
Analyzing behavioral style; that is, my manner of doing things, it measured my behavior and gave back some valuable information.
The traits I am exploring in “Which Traits Are Yours?” are the traits outlined in my profile, good and bad. I will endeavor, through my blog, to discuss them and how they relate to my business, my clients, partnerships, and how I am working to better the good, and improve the bad to grow as a person and solopreneur.
I have to say that I scored rather highly in the “Dominance” category. So, I started my query into my psyche in that arena: Demanding, Egocentric, Driving, Ambitious, Pioneering, Strong-Willed, Forceful, Determined, Aggressive, Competitive, Decisive, Venturesome, Inquisitive, Responsible. Great traits for a business owner in many ways (okay, maybe not egocentric). But traits to be careful and guarded with as a partner both in business and in life.
I am determined that through this process of discovery I will learn more not only about myself, but about my ideal client and the relationships I share with everyone that touches my life.
